Athletes with a Disability Ltd At the recent Australian Athletes with a Disability Ltd (AAWD) Annual General Meeting Liz Pollock and Corny Van Eldik were reelected to the AAWD Board. Liz and Corny rejoin Tanya Cox, Amanda Garland and Bob Cole on the Board. AAWD has released its latest round of funding applications, applications close at AAWD on 17 November 2004. For further information contact info@sport.org.au Australian Sports Organisation for the Disabled Inc The Australian Sports Organisation for the Disabled (ASOD) Annual General Meeting will know be held via teleconference on 9 November 2004. Wheelchair Sports Australia Ltd The Wheelchair Sports Australian Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 30 October 2004. International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation ISMWSF - ISOD, the recently combined body of the International Stoke Mandeville Wheelchair Sports Federation and the International Sports Organisation for the Disabled has announced that the ISMWSF-ISOD merged activity will be carried out under the name INTERNATIONAL WHEELCHAIR & AMPUTEE SPORTS FEDERATION. The
logo for the new organisation has also been revealed and appears below.
IWAS has also announced the World Wheelchair & Amputee Games are scheduled for Rio, Brazil in September 2005, further information on this event can be found at www.tributetopeace.com C.P.-I.S.R.A. World Games The 2005 CP World
Games will be held in Connecticut USA during 2 to 10 July 2005. Sports
offered will be Athletics; Cycling; Table Tennis; Bowls; Powerlifting;
Swimming; Soccer (soccer will be the world cup event); Table tennis,
Powerlifting are pending for IPC sanctioning. If you wish to find

Paralympian of the Year Awards Tim Sullivan, star of the Athens Track, has taken out the prestigious Paralympian of the Year Award at the "Paralympian of the Year" Awards presented in Sydney. SPORTS NEWS Athletics The Avon National Club Championships will be held 30-31 October 2004 at the Knox Basketball Stadium. A New Zealand Women's Wheelchair Basketball Team will compete in this event for the second time in the event's history. Congratulations to the WSA Under 20 team who recently competed in the New Zealand Basketball Nationals where they won the gold medal. The IWBF have

Lawn Bowls The inaugural Oceania Lawn Bowls Challenge held in South Australia between Australia and Korea has concluded. The Australian team of eight members was very successful winning all medals on offer. The results were as follows:
