2006 VISA Paralympic World Cup
The Australian Rollers once again grabbed Silver at the VISA Paralympic World Cup, going down 65-49 to Canada. For more information on the Rollers program, please contact Basketball Australia.

Wheelchair Basketball Club Champions' Cup
Reigning NWBL Champions, the West Sydney Razorbacks have been invited to compete in the Wheelchair Basketball Club Champions' Cup in Kitakyushu, Japan. Friday October 27th to Sunday October 29th, 2006.

Invited teams will also be chosen from the IWBF zones of Americas and Europe and from the host nation Japan.

WNWBL
The 2006 Womens National Wheelchair Basketball League is in full swing. After 2 rounds of competition, all 5 teams have posted wins. The North Sydney Bears are well out in front at the top of the ladder, but the other teams have the opportunity to close the gap in Round 3 in Brisbane in August. NWBL
The 2006 National Wheelchair Basketball League season tipped off over the weekend with Woollongong taking first blood to defeat the Wheelkings 17-49. Keep in touch with the NWBL Season by regularly visiting http://nwbl.sports.org.au/

2006 Qld Wheelchair Basketball "Classics"

2006 Australian Championships

The Australian Handcycling Championships were held in Sydney in early May. To date we have not received results from this event, but will post them as soon as they come to hand.

Lawn Bowls
2006 National Championships
Congratulations to NSW who took out the inaugural Interstate Trophy at the 2006 Multi-Disability Lawn Bowls National Championships held in Melbourne 27 April - 2 May. The event saw a revised format, which proved popular amongst players and looks set to continue in future years. After some tough play on the greens the following players emerged victorious:

Canada Cup
The Australian team to contest the Canada Cup in June has been announced. Congratulations and best wishes to all squad members in the lead up to the World Championships in September. 2006 Telstra National Wheelchair Rugby League
The 2006 Telstra National Wheelchair Rugby League will tip off at the Sydney Academy of Sport, Narrabeen 26-28 May 2006. All teams are looking forward to the start of the new season, with tough battles expected throughout as the Australian team builds towards the World Cup in September 2006. Classification Clinic
A Wheelchair Rugby Classification Clinic will be held in conjunction with round 1 of the National Wheelchair Rugby League in Sydney on 27 May 2006. This clinic will be presented by Greg Ungerer (Level 4 International Classifier) and Cindy Evans (Level 3 International Classifier). This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in becoming a Wheelchair Rugby Classifier. Tennis
World Team Cup
The Australian team of Anthony Bonaccurso, Ben Weeks, Michael Dobbie (Senior) and Michael Esler, Dylan Alcott, Kim Robins (Junior) have recently returned from Brazil where they contested the Wheelchair Tennis World Team Cup.

Unfortunately the unseeded Australian team went down in the first round to eventual runners-up France, before going on to defeat Spain, the Slovak Republic and Hungary to finish in 9th position and remain in World Group 1 After sweeping through their pool matches, the Australian Juniors went down 2 matches to 1 to defending champions, Belgium - finishing second for the third straight year.
