Combined Administration of ASOD, CP-ASRF & WSA The next meeting of the Combined Administration of ASOD, CP-ASRF and WSA will be held on 16th March 2003. This will be the first meeting recently appointed board members Tanya Cox and Amanda Garland will be in attendance at a meeting of the Board. ASOD ASOD's international body, the International Sports Organisation for the Disabled (ISOD), is holding a General Assembly in Madrid during April to discuss its proposed merger with the international wheelchair sports organisation, the International Stoke Mandeville Wheelchair Sports Federation (ISMWSF). After this General Assembly it is proposed a joint ISOD/ISMWSF General Assembly will be held during the World Wheelchair Games/ISOD World Athletics Championships to be held in New Zealand in October 2003. The International Sports Organisation for the Disabled has released a new website the address is www.is-od.com Wheelchair Sports Australia Ms Liz Pollock has advised that due to pressures of other commitments she is stepping aside as Chairperson of the Board of WSA. Liz will continue to serve as a member of the Board. Graeme Watts has accepted the invitation of the Board to assume the position of Chairperson as of Friday 14 February 2003. Graeme has been a member of the Board since 2001 and is also a member of the Board of Wheelchair Sports NSW. He has been particularly active in the sport of wheelchair tennis, junior wheelchair sports, and more recently, handcycling. Australian Sports Commission The Australian Sports

The winner will be announced at the Awards dinner on March 12 in Melbourne. SPORTS NEWS Archery Athletics Basketball In the gold medal showdown Canada defeated the Australian team by a score of 73 - 55. A well-rested Joe Johnson scored 23 points to lead Canada. Patrick Anderson scored 18, Kenny Hall 13 and Chris Stoutenberg 8 points for Canada. For Australia Troy Sachs scored 30, Tristan Knowles 12 and Shaun Norris 5. In NWBL news, Patrick Anderson has signed up for the Brisbane Spinning Bullets and Joe Johnson is talking to both Wollongong and Dandenong Rangers. Hiroshi Iwano of Japan has resigned with Perth. Handcycling Lawn Bowls Swimming Tennis Australia has accepted responsibility for the development and management of wheelchair tennis in Australia. To assist in this process the Tennis Australia Board of Directors has agreed to the appointment of an Australian Wheelchair Tennis Committee. This committee will meet at most quarterly and will consist of five people appointed by the Tennis Australia Board of Directors. Wheelchair Rugby The NSW state league commences this weekend in Canberra, this four-team league provides a great opportunity for the members of the NSW National League team to compete in regular competition before the National League commences in May.
