Australian Athletes with a Disability Ltd New street address - the office of Australian Athletes with a Disability has moved to Building A, 1 Herb Elliott Ave, Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush Bay, NSW 2127. The office is now located within the offices of the Australian Paralympic Committee. Our postal address, phone, fax and email details all remain the same. Funding applications - applications have now closed for Australian Athletes with a Disability's funding grants, an announcement will be made in January regarding the successful applicants. 2005 Sport Leadership Grants for Women The Australian
Sports Commission and the Australian Government Office for Women have
released details of the 2005 Sport Leadership Grants for Women. The
program is aimed at providing women with an opportunity to undertake
certified sport leadership training. For further information visit

SPORTS NEWS Archery The Wheelchair Sports Australia Archery National Championships will be held in conjunction with the 58th Australian Archery Championships 2nd - 9th April 2005, Melbourne, Victoria. To be hosted by Archery Victoria Inc. & Diamond Valley archers. The Wheelchair Sports Australia event will be the Target event and medals will be allocated to relative placement of Wheelchair Sports Australia's entrants. Please notify Jane Hall at AAWD of your entry, including your bow type. Basketball Spinners - The
Under 23 National Wheelchair Basketball Team to compete at the Junior
(U/23) Asia Oceania Zone Qualification Tournament in Malaysia has
decided to call themselves the "Spinners." Darren Skuse [4.5], Jeremy Van Asparen [4.5], Shaun Groenewegan [4.0], Tristan Knowles [4.0], Jace Clare [3.5], Shaun Norris [3.0], Brett Nicholson [2.0], Michael Hartnett [1.5], Nang Nguyen [1.5], Daryl Taylor [1.5], Andrew Flavell [1.0], Tige Simmons [1.0]; Alan Cox - Coach, Ben Ettridge - Assistant Coach, Barry Barker - Manager. The team contains
a number of junior (U/23) players, and a prime objective of the tournament
will be to provide these young players with international experience
as part of their preparation for the Junior (U/23) World Championships
in August 2005. For specific job details, please refer to the Basketball Australia website http://ba1.basketball.net.au/resources/positions/NSWIS.doc Cue Sports Congratulations to Danny Novak from Victoria on his success in the World Cue Sports Championships held in Chinese Taipei earlier this month. Danny won silver in the teams event. Lawn Bowls Josh Barry and Ross Brown won the pairs at the Bowls Australia Grand Prix event held in South Australia earlier this month. Barry Charity and Freddie Bawden were runners up. Josh Barry added to his gold in the pairs by also winning the singles with Brian Battersby runner up. Congratulations Josh! Tennis The 34-year-old from New South Wales had an outstanding year on the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour, winning ten singles and five doubles titles. His biggest tournament wins included the Australian Open, French Open, British Open, US Open, Nasdaq-100 Open, Atlanta Masters Series, and the year-end championships, the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters. Volleyball New South Wales won the National Sitting Volleyball Championships held in December in conjunction with the Australian Volleyball Federation. Queensland came second and Victoria third. New South Wales were presented their trophy in front of a packed crowd during the National Volleyball League finals. January Calendar of Events
